When the first tooth appears, you should definitely bring your child in to see the dentist. However, even if the first tooth has not appeared, but your child has reached the age of one, you should still bring him or her in. You don’t need to wait until the first tooth has grown in all the way, either. Because teeth and gum problems can develop before the first teeth have come in, it’s a good idea to bring your youngster in either at the age of one, or when you can see the white of a tooth coming in.
